Tiger fades and rabbit reckons

Fade-in

Antennas for ears
Metallique
Cogs wheels and springs de luxe
Tail like a porcupines’ bristles
Machine

Twitchy little thing
Freezes and sniffs
With tinny nose
Stock-straight whiskers
Shining black diamon’eyes

Change is in the air
The wind snarls and shifts
Letting on to
Beware
Maybe the tiger isn’t going anywhere...

"change of animal in the new year", I wanted to include this metatag that the author included in the submission.

This is an excellent poem. The metaphor is original and you build tension nicely, especially in the last three lines.

I like the blending of the animal organic with the animal mechanic...brava!
