A love poem

Star InactiveStar InactiveStar InactiveStar InactiveStar Inactive

How do I love thee? Let me count the ways.

Wait! That’s plagiarism.

O my luve’s like a red red rose.

But that sounds familiar too.

Shall I compare thee to a summer’s day?

No, I read that somewhere before.

I love you with all I am.

I love you all my life.

I love you, all of you.

TAKEN

TAKEN

TAKEN

Stay, shadow of contentment to short lived,

(Sor Juana Ines de la cruz)

Tiring find words to use…

That no one else has used before…

So, I close this with a kiss.

And pray no one has copyrighted-

I love you.

Excellent. In addition to being a good and modern love poem, it is definitely imbued with a post industrial frustration with the corporatization of our language, either directly or through overuse in advertising slogans.

How to find words when it almost seems better to just give a poem that's already been written? I can dig it. Great work.
