I last knew of you as an enemy

   A hater of my life

Your family was all f*#^ed up

   More dysfunctional than mine

Your brother was a racist

   Your mom a drunken whore

Violence and rape existed for you

   White trash forever more.

Step-daddy Tracy,

   Was convicted, sent away,

For diddling the babies,

But the heartache, well, that stayed.

We were friends at some point in time,

I had some firsts with you,

The Parliament that made me sick,

The first time I drank booze.

Our sisters were best friends,

   Why? I'm still not sure,

Then you all moved to Indiana,

   White trash forever more.

Out of touch for fifteen years,

   Time erasing hate,

Curiosity got the best of the cat,

But for some it was too late.

Your little sister,

   Face booked mine,

Missing her friend,

   After all this time.

Catching up on everyone,

   Some outcomes coming clear,

But it was your sad, sad story,

That made me sob with tears.

Pregnant as a teen,

   Unwed and addicted,

Your first born son, beat within an inch of his life,

But by your boyfriend, so you were afflicted,

Baby number two and three,

Came but were not cared for,

The state came and took them away,

   White trash forever more.

Your birth dad - the asshole,

   Took them home for you,

Then beat them and hurt them,

Did the same he did to you.

Your little sis said,

You had a moment of clarity,

Begged for your life,

   And even took charity.

So young you were then,

   Twenty four? Twenty five?

Struggling to find,

   A meaning for life!

Sober for a while,

Off the pills and the booze,

Proving to the courts,

It's your kids that you choose,

But for the saddest reasons ever,

They'd never again come through you door,

I'm sure you felt what I was thinking,

   White trash forever more.

NO! Said the courts.

   Mother? You are NOT!

People like you should be executed,

Should be taken out and shot!

I'm sure it was dark,

   Your pain resonates so deep,

You stepped off the edge,

Into a dark abyss that weeps,

A broken piece of shit,

An addict, a drunk, a whore.

"F*^%ing give me an escape!"

"White trash I'll be no more!"

With all the sadness in your heart,

(It hurt to beat on it's own)

But to numb yourself enough...

Only the fiend in you was shown.

You Broke.

   Into a trillion little pieces.

Crashing,

   Shedding the sorrowful feces.

You climbed up onto a step,

Used the broken chain from the screen door,

And hung yourself.

   white trash... uh-uh... no more.

The EMT's couldn't save you,

Your pit bull guarded your body.

But honestly it didn't matter.

Because in life you were already rotting.

Your babies got adopted,

   Two of them at least,

The third is still with family,

   I pray the violence ceased,

What a waste of life,

   White trash or not,

I'm sorry that you lost the battle,

It's clear that you had fought.

I beg you gained the peace,

   That you were searching for,

My apologies for my judgements.

I hope you are tormented no more.

I've waited a long time for your latest piece. It was well worth the wait. I read through this as fast as a meth addict's heart races. Thats how it works, fast. Masterful poem wicked. I'm going to go read it a few times more.

Thank-you Berto I know I have been slacking on posting as much as I would like to... I am happy that you enjoyed this piece... it was in my heart to do a tribute. Suicide's are so condemned by society, so are addicts... I felt it was necessary...

Thank-you Berto I know I have been slacking on posting as much as I would like to... I am happy that you enjoyed this piece... it was in my heart to do a tribute. Suicide's are so condemned by society, so are addicts... I felt it was necessary to feel the pain of my long lost friend. Not to just go - "That's the selfish way out" "What a chicken-shit" You know? All the stuff people say. It's just not that simple.

I have a few more pieces I will post this week, one is a rewrite, (an offensive piece I must reword) and a couple other. One I think you will enjoy very much! Have an awesome day!

couldn't think of a better way to eulogize a troubled friend. honest, as far as i can know, and devastatingly sad.
