We set fire to bridges

Watch them crumble in the water

We sever ties we thought secure

Ties that will not mend

Then we take a step take a breath and do it all again.

We rush into decisions

We look before we leap

We create our own damage

And we damage our own friends

Then we take a step, take a breath and do it all again

We bruise and batter our own hearts,

Til they're beyond repair

We look for comfort in the places

We can't comprehend

Then we take a step, take a breath and do it all again.

Strong portrayal of our flawed nature. It is interesting to take a step back and look at humanity for what it is

I believe that the "cyclical" is a wonderful device for poetry and your piece demonstrates a masterful example of its use.
