Were That I a Perpetual Smile

Star InactiveStar InactiveStar InactiveStar InactiveStar Inactive

Were that I a perpetual smile
joyously leaping and effortlessly gliding
through a fluid marine blue existence.
A silver-grey flash
darting through rolling waves
glistening with a golden hue
provided by a lazy setting sun.

Were that I a perpetual smile
filled with a knowledge of the world.
A knowledge that I as myself,
could never know.
That secret knowledge of a young
planet breathing its first breath
that few remember.

Were that I a perpetual smile
clicking and chirruping while
joyously leaping and effortlessly gliding,
driven by a desire to play.
A perpetual smile and
pliable, smooth silver-grey skin
without a weighted world-weary care.
