The aroma of a fuzz guitar
is what I am craving now
The sun is hovering above
My enthusiasm is ebbing
I need a kick start alarm
I need a smile inducer
Give me something loud
Give me something raw
Give me some honesty
Give me rock and soul
I need a heavy handed push h
for me to get in the car
I need something to make
me bang on the steering
wheel with gusto today
The 405 is a parking lot
The 101 is a wasteland
The stereo is now blaring
The guitar is out of tune
But I'm attuned to its truth
My tie no longer suffocates
My razor burn now forgotten
The paycheck is in sight
The elusive weekend looms

You captured the drudgery of workaday life neatly in this piece.

Thank you, Joshua. Like donkeys chasing the carrots on the stick, we chase the paycheck. All for the illusion of stability.

I love it! ^_^ Of course, I'm a coffee and music addict to get me through the week, so this combines two of my favorite things. Awesome piece: simply direct and full of truth. Thanks for the mental pick-me-up.

You really captured the anxiety and frenzy of the workday in this one, good job.

Thank you, TSinclair. I think everyone has had stressful workday mornings. Music tames the savage beast.

Well done Eric. I read the last part several times to enjoy how tune flows into looms for an excellent finish. Thanks for sharing!

And yes I am the lady sitting next to you in traffic, singing into her lighter at the top of her lungs, transitioning from mom to worker, or vise versa, all in a matter of 20 minutes... music and driving... ahhhh blissful
