I Heard My Mother Cry Today

Star InactiveStar InactiveStar InactiveStar InactiveStar Inactive

Even if he were ever sick
911 could never keep him long.
I thought he was my Invincible
But I guess I was somewhat wrong.

I said "I'll see you in the morning Papa"
Then I gave him a kiss goodnight
But they soon called us in the room Papa
Guess you got tired of the fight.

I guess I lived my life blinded
I thought you controlled the thunder
Why is it so hard to understand
Why my Superman is six feet under?!

I heard my mother cry today
And 3 plus 3 equalled 5.
The sun forgot to rise today
As I watched as Superman died.

This poem is loaded with emotion, very touching... with a little more crafting of the technical aspects it could be a complete piece.
