Personal Savior

I’m so damned pleased

that you’ve found

your personal savior

It sure must come in handy

now and then

Does He do your laundry

and bundle up the garbage

and then top it off by

wiping way your sin

Does He put out the cat

Will He do all the shopping

and then save you

from your evil wicked ways

This sure sounds like

a deal made in heaven

I gotta get me my own

savior one of these days

Will He file your taxes

and clean out the garage

Can He feed your household

with a loaf of bread

He must be quite a fella

to talk you into thinking

That you’d be so

much better off dead

I got a list of things

I’d like Him to take on

from granting me serenity

to raking up the lawn

You’ve made me a believer

I think it’s safe to say

I gotta get me a

personal savior

one of these days
