 ...Friday nite @ the
Pitch An' Putts the lithe-one sits
atop the Dollhouse
(Hole 4 adjacent to the
Castle Hole 1) in clown suit

& makeup waiting...
who'll give this date-night top flight
see beyond his gay
Parliacci for a pro-
stroker under the Windmill

beat the gent to a
hole-in-one? not much to ask
'gainst the task, clear the
links like grease off a sausage
swept-under the tattered green

these duds costing the
the amateur-a-plenty...
Hello there, how 'bout
a strokeless'n     Thank you, no
we're...say, I know...aren't you?

why not?  The Dollhouse
lights, Wind mills...  Thank you!     Thank you!
The bridge onto the
Castle moats (& yet where's the
tourneykit?), suffer the lil'

duffers, like Gretel
& Hansel for fairway to
wood in the crumbs...  rough
nite, feelin' like a bogie,
need to big sleep, lies awake...

...Saturday nite the
Pitch An' Putts, the lithe-one, the
Dollhouse, the Castle
all along the watchtower
be back again, & again...

rgault - TY for the attention to my Work; It is especially germane this weekend as Its protagonist/antagonist is participating in that tournament which might be "semantically" played-with; nonetheless, the likelihood of heckling from the ogling gallery, slim-to-none...lucky for him he's not on the miniature course, as depicted in the Poem.

Please do continue to read me, here & elsewhere - I look forward to your comments - H.e.m./H'H.

P.S. - Noticed you're location is Austin; I will attempt to review your Work here, mindful of the possibility It possesses no (Austin City) limits - lol.

I dig your shit too. It is Joycean in its apparent nonsense. You have to pay close attention but it has a nice beat to it. Even if you don't pay attention it is refreshing to read for its cadence.

Hey Ishish - I suppose I ought say TY for the inordinate-though-erudite comment for my Work; as someone what obviously knows his s***, I applaud your perception into the attempts I strive toward "Jazz", from one apparent player to another? I...

Hey Ishish - I suppose I ought say TY for the inordinate-though-erudite comment for my Work; as someone what obviously knows his s***, I applaud your perception into the attempts I strive toward "Jazz", from one apparent player to another? I look forward to reading your stuff & reciprocating - H'H.

Hey H'H - I never really mentioned jazz I think that was someone else. I hesitate to liken your work with jazz. It reminds me more of the style of many an Irish writer. Joyce, Flann O'Brien etc. I don't think of jazz when I think of Ireland. Even your abbreviated name reminds me of Finnegans Wake. Admit you have studied his works and pattern your style after his in a fashion.

You have some nice puns in there that are not tired and while it is obvious through your comments you prefer formal English, albeit in your own truncated and skewed form and shun the colloquial use of 'shit' and its brethrens; the conversational and informal tone of the speakers has a nice effect.

You draw from many sources of inspiration in literature/poetry past and make it work. Kudos. I would like to read some more of your 'shit'. And when I mean shit, I mean it in the most positive sense.

Ishish - Yes, the "jazz" was mentioned by rgault; however, the tenor of your comment reflected a parcel of what I do, from there I extrapolated (erroneously) you might be a player, hope no offense. Poetry & Jazz are interconnected. I am "flannered" by your aligning me with the wealth of Irish poets/writers. To be in the "company" of Joyce alone is humbling. Fact is, my Work has been priorly compared with the aforementioned, as well as G.M. Hopkins, John Ashbery, Pound... & there are the Jazzers, Gerry Mulligan, Les McCann, Oscar Peterson, Ben Riley, Tommy Flannigan... Of course I have read all of Joyce, but to "admit" I have overtly "patterned my style" would be disingenuous; my Work draws from a panoply of influences (as you read more, as you have observed, this will become apparent). However, the H.E. is reminiscent, as is "Harold Bloom." If I "pattern" anyone, assuredly It is from the subconscious. Yes, I have the fortunate wealth of 1,000 + yrs. of poetry/literature to draw upon for my endeavor to be "younique." TY for the shout. Again, I have comfortability with all genres of culture, but don't you agree s*** is so much more effective? You might view, in addition to the posts here, more of HaroHalola at http://www.poetryinbaltimore.com, & http://www.arcanum.com. I owe you two reads of your work, now. H'H.

P.S. - Lest I forget/give due Anita O'Day, Jackie McLean, Carmen McCrae...& oh yeah, Hilary Mantel - lol.
