Wide-Eyed Girl

Star InactiveStar InactiveStar InactiveStar InactiveStar Inactive

With wide eyes still dreaming
she fell through night into mourning.
High in her tower
     each day the same.
A prisoner in her cold stone cell
no windows searching for a sign.

He comes for her at night.
Slays the monsters steals the light from their eyes.
His touch brings her senses to life.

Her defenses tumbled, afraid to speak,
     they flee down lamp-lit streets.
Happily ever after,
     cut free from the stakes,
she proceeds to tie herself down.

What an ending. Nicely done!
