My Big Sis

Star InactiveStar InactiveStar InactiveStar InactiveStar Inactive

You’re dizzy and drunk

falling all over the place.

Your makeup is smeared

all over your face.

You stumble as you walk

and mumble while you fall.

How much did you drink?

Do you remember at all?

You mutter, “bathroom,”

as you get up and run away.

What made you drink

so much today?

Your head falls into the toilet

as you vomit up the booze.

Obviously your better judgment

you did not use.

You suddenly get up

from your spot on the bathroom floor.

You try to speak

and go out the bathroom door.

You ask where you are

and how you got there.

You’ve drank too much

and given me a scare.

My mother looks at me and says,

“You better not ever do this.”

So now how can I ever

look up to you, My Big Sis?

Tomorrow you’ll wake up

And not remember much,

But because of you,

alcohol I will never touch.

Sometimes your role model could be a lesson in disguise, on how you don't want to become... I liked the message in this poem.

I've been that BIg Sis... took years for me to realize how much I hurt my baby sisters. Breaks my heart to know it will always be the memories I provided as a teenager. The "role model" I provided. I was alone then... I didn't see ANYTHING around...

I've been that BIg Sis... took years for me to realize how much I hurt my baby sisters. Breaks my heart to know it will always be the memories I provided as a teenager. The "role model" I provided. I was alone then... I didn't see ANYTHING around me. I will always be remorseful for letting my sisters down. Thankfully it's not like that anymore and we have healed some. In advance for your Big Sis "So sorry to let you down, it hurts and it's not okay" Wish you the best

Thank you, I'm glad you have grown up and I'm sure your sisters are too. -Amanda J.

i like the message but unfortunately dont see it ever happening- the not touching alcohol bit at least. because you have to learn from your own mistakes and guaranteed mistakes will be made.

nice poem
