Coffee and Cigarettes

Star InactiveStar InactiveStar InactiveStar InactiveStar Inactive

I fed the lion

And it left me wanting

But there’s nothing courageous about checking out

They come to me

In teams of three

And they leave me

Without a doubt

I face the morning sun

As alone as when they’d come

Scurrying once again

To turn the sentry out

Coffee and Cigarettes

But you don’t touch your food

And I smoke the fag for you

You can’t resist this world outside

And it’s no longer enough

To say that I adore you

This poem is very emotional, I like it a lot; great job.
