Cynic's Cycle

Star InactiveStar InactiveStar InactiveStar InactiveStar Inactive

I've been eaten away
by the worm

The parasite left me
rotten and mealy
beneath the hope
of a blue sky

Though my seeds
somehow persevered
locked away
in the forgotten core
buried in darkness
under the littered debris
of a proverbial nuclear fallout
And yet I fear not
this seeming death

For below the earth
the seedling prepares
ready to emerge
beginning anew

Hoping to bear fruit once again

Very good poem, IriniTacit! I like the tightly focused metaphor that you carry to the end. I thought it was effective. Nice ending too!

Good follow through. You took your subject and made it blossom. Pun intended. Very good!
